NSAIDs are medications for mild to moderate
Pain. They work by decreasing levels of inflammation at the site of the
tissue injury. Many persons or patients are familiar with over-the-counter
ibuprofen such as Advil, Motrin and Nuprin. Aleve is
one of the more recent over-the-counter medications that contains naproxen
sodium and have 8 to 12 hour dosing. Some NSAID's are available
in injection form. Some examples of prescription NSAID's are; Clinoril, Feldene, Indocin, Naprosyn, etc. Some may cause gastric
side effects.The list below are some of the more common NSAID's that you should recognize. |
